Plans for december

Only 2 more weeks of school! I cannot tell you how excited i am to be finished this semester!
And because i'll have just under a month off until i start my winter semester, i plan to complete a couple of projects over my break.

Project One: Make a Quilt
This is something i have wanted to do ever since Elise poster her first quilt about a year ago. She's given me a lot of inspiration to do one, and i've also gotten a lot of inspiration from Pinterest as well.

Project Two: Learn Calligraphy
I have swooned of numbers of invitations on pinterest, and i want to practice and learn it myself!

Project Three: Finish Portfolio for school.
I have an internship coming up this spring, and since i will have some extra time, i want to get my portfolio in order so i don't have to worry about it when my interviews start coming up.

Project Four: Make some t-shirts.
I made my first one back in July, for the Harry Potter première, and i've been wanting to make some for my favorite bands. Every concert i go to there always too expensive, and this way i have control of the design! I'm hoping to try out this tutorial.

Project Five: Make some mini calendars.
I've been planning to do this for the past 5 years, and still haven't done it. I'm hoping to incorporate some instagrams, and some other favorite photos of mine.

I will be updating as i go, and i will post all my completed projects! I'm so excited to be done school, and to work on some things for myself!

All Photos are from Pinterest, on my DIY board here.

Picnic with the sisters

10:00 AM MeganKP 0 Comments

II completed number 16 on my 19 at 19 list this september with both of my sisters. We had a lot of fun! We packed this cute little basket i got at an antique store with sandwiches, Italian sodas, fruit and chips! And we sat and talked and laughed and laughed! And then decided to have a mini photo shoot afterwards.
(And if you knew me and my younger sister Erinn and all, you'll know we never give up the chance to take pictures!)

I may just think about doing this every year with my sisters, make it a tradition around school time! Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Cooking classes

10:13 PM MeganKP 0 Comments

So at the beginning of the semester I was accepted into a FREE cooking class called Start from Scratch. 100 students applied and only 30 of us got in, i was more then excited that i was accepted!
I have always known how to cook, but i've never been good at it. Something always seems to go wrong, and mess it up, and in order for a dish to turn out right i need someone there helping me.
But because of this class i've become a lot more comfortable in the kitchen, and a lot more comfortable trying new things and experimenting.

We've had a lot of different guests from different resturaunts around the city, each one teaching us some new skills or giving us some new ideas. Needless to say i look forward to going to class every week, and i enjoy cooking 100 times more then i did in the past! Here are some things i have made in both class, and at home:

a. pesto on tortellini b. Quiche with goat cheese and spinach c. bison tar-tar d. raspberry and lemon muffins e.trout, potatoes, and kale f. cheese gnocchi, homemade sausage and grilled kale.
And i usually tweet about our classes and share pictures of what we've made on twitter if you'd like to follow me theres a link on the side bar over there: or you can just click here:

Since My Birthday....

1:29 PM MeganKP 1 Comments

I was so inspired by Elise Blaha's post today, which you can see here. She is seriously one of my favorite bloggers, i love reading her posts everyday, and learning from her creativity and small business is so inspiring.
So anyway i decided to do mine since my birthday, because that's when i made my 19 at 19 list, which you can see fully in the top banner. But thinking back 6 months, i have come to realize how much i have truly changed, even in the smallest ways, in some cases in huge ways. And it's actually comforting to me to know that i am still evolving, and i'm not stuck in my ways, which is what i though six months ago.
So, since my birthday i have....

Decided to stop dreaming about my life and actually live it.
to step out of my comfort zone more often.
learned that stepping out of my comfort zone brings so many new experiences and possibilities.
completed 4 of the 19 things on my list, and planning to complete a lot more over winter break.
become excited about school again.
and hated school all at the same time.
put my dream of a small shop into action.
learned more about myself then ever before.
have come to accept myself, and who i am then ever before.
fallen in love with cooking.
made it out of the country for the first time in 9 years.
had an amazing vacation with a best friend.
taken thousands of photos.
had days where i could care less about anything other then relaxing.
had days where i thought i would never be able to relax again.
become more compassionate for other people and their problems.
And above all else, realized that people can change in even in such a short amount of time.

Welcome!

12:17 AM MeganKP 3 Comments

Welcome to my new home!! I would just like to thank Joy Kelley of HowJoyfulDesign for this fabulous template for my new blog! I love the way it turned out with the banner i made, and the buttons i decided to add.

I had a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to make the stupid buttons, but after many google searches, and so many tests, i finally got it to work!

I am hoping to do some more regular posting on here, i'm doing a lot of brainstorming for some regular topics.

This is a picture of Me, my sister, and some of our work friends. We were attending Market Collective, which is a monthly Craft fair composed of local artists selling their handmande goods, or vintage items, etc.  They always have a fun photo-booth set up too!

Welcome to the new blog, i hope you decide to stay a little while!

New Blog!

12:10 AM MeganKP 0 Comments

I was on Pinterest the other day and found a really cute template for blogger, so i decided to create a new blog, and start writing regularly again over there. But in the process of creating this new template i accidentally transferred it here too, and i didn't save my old template either! So i did some quick changes here and tried to make it similar to what it was.

I also deleted my blog list, when i realized what i had done i was devastated! Then i realized i could just go through my history and find all my favorite blogs again, so i was happy again!

Anyway, this is my new blog address, com check out the new design!!
